Such an unproductive weekend. Just been messing around on photoshop. Started developing my seed by sketching and painting a few fairy's. Then this wee random picture of "Nebuch" in the forest. God it's difficult painting on Photoshop without a tablet pen. =(

Wooohoooo!!!

Been working hard today. Finished my Visual Literacy essay (what a pain in the fucking arse) Finished my 2d images and I think I may possibly be finished my book scene, maybe develop it abit more. Thats my book scene above ^^ the scene I chose was a part in the book where the girl in it is lost in the forest at night, she has been drugged and it is raining. So I messed around with the colours a little, added a bit of an orange/red glow (as there is a camp fire near her, I wanted to make the fire myself but couldn't do it without it looking to flat) and then I darkened the edges a little, because I wanted to make it from her point of view, smudged the picture a little, to give the effect of her distorted vision, and then I added the rain effect. (:
Ive changed my final 2d image a wee bit, just cos I thought the last one was a bit flat. Just messed around with a few different effects and liked this one best. (: So now onto my character image, flash and my radio ad. Halfway through, Yasssss!!

Dooooodles...

Been sketching my wee head off this week. ^^ Quite proud of myself for commiting to doing so much work and actually sticking to my promise for once.
This is my first 2D image. It's quite crap but I'm not aiming for perfection, just a creative idea. I took a picture of a wall and messed about abit with the colours and hue etc on Photoshop to make it darker and give it a kind of moss effect. Then I took several pictures of my hand and arms and added these to the wall, they are supposed to be vines stretching across the wall. Not to great I know, but oh well, it shall do for now.
This is my second 2D image. I created this by simply messing around with different effects on Photoshop, rendering clouds, adding swirls and tampering with the colours and hue etc again. I like the finished product ^^
This is my third 2D image. I took one of the pictures I had taken of the Eiffel Tower from when I went to Paris (amazing times) Messed around abit with the colours and decided on this one, don't know why, I just liked the effect. I added frames around parts of the picture to make it look like several different photo's all in the one.
This is my final 2D image. I took a picture of myself and then on Photoshop I messed around with a few different effects and brushes until I created this "watercolour" effect.

So that's the 2D images out the way. Time to finish my essay and CivicMace file and then onto the rest of my pile of coursework. No rest for the wicked eh. =P

Happy, Happy, Happy...

Finally!! Ive done some coursework. Finished three of my 2d image ideas! Just need to photograph the last one and Im sorted. Gonna make a start on my character and scene today, hopefully get it completely finished by the end of the weekend. Ahhh, bliss, I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my shoulders. (:

such a bad bad bad day...

Finally I get some inspiration to do some artwork, shame none of it had anything to do with the course. :( currently trying to do some Photoshop work for my 2D images, it is not going well, Im a total noob at Photoshop and it is running damn slow. I think I will just give up, my back is aching from sitting at a desk too long. Came up with quite a few ideas for my images, although Im not sure if it is what she wants, apparently its like photo manipulation, which isn't the path I have been going down. Im so tired, just want to curl up in bed and hibernate. Sadly though the coursework must be done...

let the ideas flow through your mind...

This blogs supposed to be used to document my ideas and as of yet I haven't detailed a single piece of coursework. So, now is the time...
I shall start with the easiest, Audio. For this we have two pieces of coursework. The first is to "clean up" an audio file which has been poorly recorded. I have done most of it, I believe all I have left to do is remove the high pitched frequency and then write a short report on how I achieved the final file. Shouldn't be too hard. The second piece of audio coursework is to create a 45-60 second radio advert for Abertay's new Centre of Excellence. For this I have decided to write a short song, sing it myself (dear lord) and then using Soundforge, make it sound...well, good =P I have my wee musical helper, aiding me in creating a tune to accompany the lyrics. Aiming to have this finished by the end of this week.
Next is Visual Literacy. I have already began the essay, which may or may not be what they are looking for. The second task is to create four 2D images, manipulating them on Photoshop etc. I have made one of these images, which is posted here. Again, this may not be what they are looking for, but balls to them. My other ideas are still a work in progress (until I can find my usb cable) But I can outline my plans, the first is a photo of my hand along with a wine glass, which has appeared to roll away, I plan to make this black and white, probably add a few effects to it (give it a grainy texture etc) and then add what appears to be either blood or wine, but Im not telling you which ;) and this is going to be bold red, so it stands out. The third and fourth aren't completely decided upon yet, one will no doubt be some kind of poster using Photoshop and the other, I had an idea with pasta that I may go for. We shall see. The last piece of Visual Literacy coursework is to create two images from a book, one of a scene and the other of a character. The book I have chosen is Linwood Barclay's 'No time for goodbye' (epic book btw) I will update you on the images once I have made my final choices.
Elementary Animation...the joys! I have finished my flipboooks. I chose to do a bouncing ball and a bird flying around a tree, rather boring to be honest. For my flash animation, I have decided to use the words float, burst and crash. Nothing spectacular, basically the word float, floats up in clouds, birds fly into these clouds causing them to burst, the word burst then falls through the sky, ultimately crashing to the ground to create the word crash...hopefully that makes sense.
Dynamic Communications, where do I start. Well I have decided on my seed, Gothic Art, concentrating mainly on the myths of Mermaids and Fairys and how they were percieved as evil, manipulative creatures. Now my task is to invesitgate my seed and get this...talk to people who have seen real life mermaids and fairy's. Wtf?! To my surprise however, finding people who actually believed they had seen a mermaid or fairy wasn't as impossible as Id first imagined. Just type fairy sightings into Google and you get pages upon pages of dillusional mental patients. We have also to create an Avatar for this module, although Im not sure if it is included in the coursework, nevertheless I have came up with an idea. A drawing of myself, as I see myself anyway, with my influences all around me, i.e friends, family, music... Im sure I will create something semi decent. =/

i need inspiration...

Trying to do coursework, its not going well at all. I have absolutely no creativity at the moment (no wonder, this room is soooo bare, how can i get inspiration stuck in here) If it wasn't for the fact that it's so cold outside and I'd probably catch pnemonia, I would go sit at the top of the hill, look out across the Tay and let the inspiration come to me. Instead, Im trapped in here, attempting to sketch and failing beautifully. I did however make a start on my essay last night, which has made me feel a little better, even if it is a random speil of crap. I don't know how Im going to chat 2000 words on that question, "Do digital artist's need to include thought provoking concepts?" in my opinion, yes. Simple, maybe I will just write yes 2000 times, question answered, can't complain. Meh, instead I have began chatting like a twat about the history of digital art and how it has "blossomed" throughout the past decade. Something tells me this isn't what they are looking for. Although I did find a digital artist whose work incorporates thought provoking concepts, are we allowed to chat about an artists work!? That would surely fill up the essay nicely. I began writing about him, but got caught up in a heated msn conversation and pushed the essay to the back of my mind. I may attempt to do some more today, probably not though...
Instead I am going to work on my Audio coursework. I need to think up a script or song for the radio ad, and create some tunage to go with it. Hopefully I can get this at least half done by the end of the week. Finish my CivicMace file by then too. Thats one module out the way. Only another three to go. ):

Why does happiness always fail me...

Pitch and Crit week...seems to have gone well, despite the fact I lost my usb stick and had bugger all to show the group. But once again my unbelievable intelligence got me out of a sticky situation, Im joking of course. It went ok though, I got my ideas across and they appeared to understand them well, and no negative feedback =D Im sooo lacking in any creative inspiration, it's driving me mad. I think I need to have a Disney night and just relax, let the creativity come to me...anyone fancy a Disney night?! So anyway, I plan on using this week off (woooo) to do some work, it's almost DECEMBER!!!! and I have done sweet fuck all for this course! Help me! But don't quote me on that, I always leave things until the very last moment. That being said however, I may make a start on my essay tonight, as I believe it's due in December, rather than January!? I would put some of my "art" up tonight, but in addition to losing my usb stick, I have also lost my usb cable (maybe they ran away together?!) Im so lacking in any order right now, my head feels like its gone to mush. ):
Enough chat about coursework anyway. It's been about...6 hours since I had a cigarette, Im craving one badly, but Im going to be strong. Keep myself busy with other things, like, sleeping?! Ahhh, I had such an amazing weekend (like you couldn't get better if you fucking tried) and now Im all feeling crappy and miserable again...fuck it, are the shops still open at half 9!?....

Ahhhh!!!

Bonjourno!!
Everyone else on my course seems to be creating a blog, so I thought I would give it a go too. Don't expect much from it other than random words which probably won't make any sense to you, cos thats me =P Im currently studying Computer Arts at Abertay University, for the life of me I do not know why I chose this course... Im not great at drawing and Im not too great with computers, so the next four years should be exciting to say the least. I will put up some examples of my "Art" later, I can't be bothered finding my usb cable at the moment. So, introductions over...enjoy my friends. =D
